Terms

Use it, share it, credit it.

The data OpenPolls Africa compiles is free to reuse with credit. Documents published by others stay theirs.

Reusing our data

The datasets, text, charts and share images that OpenPolls Africa creates are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0). You may copy, publish and adapt them, including commercially, as long as you credit “OpenPolls Africa (openpolls.africa)” and, where you can, link to the page or file you used.

Please keep the evidence labels when you republish figures: a reported pledge, an estimate and an official filing are different things.

Documents published by others

Source documents (for example INEC notices, court records, news articles, monitoring reports and platform data) belong to their publishers and are not covered by our licence. INEC states that its website content is “All Rights Reserved”. We link to these documents and quote short passages so that every figure can be checked; reusing the documents themselves is subject to their publishers' terms.

Accuracy

We check every record against its source before publishing, show what kind of evidence it is, and correct mistakes openly. The site is still provided “as is”: we cannot guarantee that sources are complete or free of errors, and nothing here is legal, financial or voting advice. Linking two records is never a claim of wrongdoing.

Found an error? Email hello@openpolls.africa with a link to the document. See the methodology for how corrections work.

Fair use of the site

Please download data from the files we publish (linked on each page) rather than scraping pages at high speed. Do not use the site to harass candidates, officials or anyone named in a record.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date below shows the latest version. Data you have already downloaded stays under the licence it was published with.
