Privacy

We collect as little as possible.

No accounts, no cookies, no advertising and no tracking scripts.

When you visit the site

  • We do not use cookies, accounts, advertising or analytics.
  • Sources you save are stored only in your own browser (local storage). They never reach us, and you can clear them at any time on the Saved page or in your browser settings.
  • The site is hosted by Vercel, and its domain is managed through Cloudflare. Like any web host, they process technical information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages and protect the service.
  • Text fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when a page loads.

When you email us

If you write to hello@openpolls.africa, we use your message and address only to reply and, for corrections, to keep a record of what was changed and why. We may publish the substance of a correction (for example, “a party supplied its filed return”), but not your name or contact details unless you agree.

People who appear on the site

We publish information about candidates, parties and other public figures from official records and published sources, because it is in the public interest during elections. We show names, ages, genders and qualifications only as the electoral commission published them. We do not publish home addresses, personal phone numbers, bank details or other private information, and we do not publish personal data about ordinary voters.

If information about you is wrong or should not be published, write to us. You can ask to see, correct or remove personal data under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, and we will respond as the law requires.

Changes

If we start using analytics or any other service that handles personal data, we will update this notice first.
